Hello, guys. Recently I read the post by Dollar Vigilante about him leaving Canada for a new life in the Dominican Republic. I'm very glad for him and appreciate his decision, and I decided, why not make a post about other citizenships? Jeff mentioned some countries and numbers but I've made a research to present a list of all the major citizenships which are available for acquiring by investments. 

Dominica

Don't take it for the Dominican Republic, it's different! But they have something in common. The Commonwealth of Dominica is situated in the Caribbean Sea and it has a program citizenship by investment. By far, it is the least expensive option of all. You pay only 100K$ if you are single, and 175K$ if you are applying with your spouse. Prices are higher if you have children, but still, it is very cheap. Your contribution goes to the Dominica Government so that they could invest money in schools, facilities, et cetera. And you have to pay fees, which are approximately 30K$. You don't need to live there and passport will be issued in 4-5 months. By the way, Dominica passport is 41st in the world according to the Visa Restriction Index. You can travel to Shengen Area, Brazil and a bunch of other countries visa-free. Sounds good, doesn't it? 

Antigua and Barbuda

The cost here is starting from 200K USD and it's pretty much with obligatory fees. But the passport is 30th! You can visit  Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, the UK and Europe visa-free! So, the pack is quite similar to the Dominica passport. And Antigua and Barbuda citizens get certain benefits in the countries of the Commonwealth. But there is a thing, that you have to live one week a year there. 

St. Kitts and Nevis

It is one of the best options, and still, not so expensive, comparing to the countries below. If you are single, you invest 250K USD in their sugar fund and in 3 months you get all the benefits of their citizenship including the opportunity of visiting 132 countries visa-free! And you don't have to live there AT ALL. There were rumors that Pavel Durov, the creator of the most popular social website in Russia VKontakte, bought the citizenship of St. Kitts and Nevis in order to get out of Russian Federation. 

Canada, the UK and others.

Unreal variants. Very expensive. For example. the UK passport costs you  £ 1 million without fees, and this is horrible. Canadian citizenship is 600K USD minimum! I can't imagine how much is Austrian citizenship! 

Conclusion: different countries all over the world have citizenship by investment program, which can be used to get a quick citizenship with all the rights and benefits. I suggest you to take a look at island countries(the UK is an exception) because European countries demand lots of money and experience.
