Change is something that most humans really do not like like and this is natural because we all like to settle for what we are comfortable with and not all of us constantly like to step outside of our comfort zone. However, sometimes life throws hurdles and obstacles in your way that may force you to step outside of your comfort zone in order for you to get to somewhere that you want to be, whatever that may be.
This is what change is, the reason we do not like change is that exposes a weakness in us and makes us push to do bigger and greater things that we would of not of done if we did not get pushed out of our comfort zones.
However, change is the opportunity. With change comes reward, although you may not like the change at first and it may feel very different to what you are used to, eventually there is a very high chance that you will adapt and begin to prefer the new lifestyle change and even if you don't and you wish for the old one back you have to be willing to accept the change and use it as leverage to your life and not as something that holds you down.
If you can learn to love change and then take action upon that your life will completely change in every way that you can imagine and hope that it for the good.

Change can feel like a bit if a sledgehammer can't it? I think it's often about how we perceive the changes... are they happening to us, or because of us and with our full buy-in? I think it is possible to embrace both types- though the first is rarely comfortable! E x

True! But I think we need a different perspective too. As the saying goes, "Don't fix what's not broken".
Change sure is important and necessary, but it's not always what's needed. Thoughts?

Yes, true change is not always needed. However, sometimes life might make you go into uncomfortable positions and you may not be able to anything about it as you cannot always control other people descision.

Yes change is a great thing and can get you to places. But usually the younger accept changes more easy... the elderly not so much.

Yes, the elderly usually have a lot more responsibility than younger people which may make them feel this way.
