How to give meaning to your life when you are senior citizensteemCreated with Sketch.

Your challenges have changed. You wonder what you can do after living so long. What you couldn't, what you wanted. Is your youth the man you wish you were?

After 60 years, you can start over despite your past mistakes. Many adults have chosen their careers. Being yourself and finding meaning after 60 is never too late.

Some are on professional retirement, while others must work. However, some prefer to work because they love it. They likely had offspring. They have a home, friends, memories to tell the youngest, life experience, and professional knowledge. Failing, losing loved ones, health issues, unemployment, addictions, a criminal record, etc.

Taking stock of your life involves looking back at what you've done, seen, and experienced. How do you describe yourself to a complete stranger? You can respond spontaneously. It must be heartfelt. Self-shame is unnecessary. Know that a farmer's testimony is more compelling than a former minister's.

Regrets make it harder to find meaning after 60. You've failed a lot. Some are ashamed of their new selves. That's serious.

Were our mistakes regrettable? We're helpless. It's painful to realise we can't go back. But what's done is done.

Change your life even if you can't go back. Life is now. Our future depends on us, not the past. We still have a future at 60.

You want to enjoy life at 60+. Landing unknown is the issue. It's strange to work less and lose energy. Aging and having out-of-style tastes are new.

Managing all these inevitable but perhaps necessary changes will be difficult. These changes will enable self-reflection. What's my dream?

Knowing your goals helps you make sense of life after 60. You've always listened and reached out to others. Consider yourself now. At 60, we still have dreams like:

Some people are driven by desperation and regret. They're exhausted. They just want to lay around. We can accept this behaviour. Age-related. This isn't ideal.

Accept life after 60. Accept projects. Finally, trust in your ability to achieve your goals and be happy.

I smile thinking about it.
Fighting his deepest desires is hard. You want to do things at 60. These happy memories make you smile.

You're lucky to have more time. Whether retired or not, your responsibilities decrease. You should seriously consider what makes you happy now. Let go and have fun.

You may have outgrown some activities. You probably check online to see if people your age do certain things. Few will be found. They're too busy enjoying life to post on social media.

When you stop questioning your rights, life after 60 makes sense. It's not madness either. It's just balancing your desires with your stature.

Boredom kills when you're less busy. Establish a daily routine to beat boredom. Keeps you busy and improves memory.

Regular exercise will keep you fit. If you love tennis, join a club. Meeting new people will benefit you.

Routines can give life meaning after 60. Don't blame yourself if you can't follow your routine. Be patient with yourself.
