According to Stephen Covey, the third habit of the highly-efficient person is related to placing the most important things first.
Habit 1 tells us , that being proactive we create and responsible for their actions through the 4 human gifts - imagination, conscience, free will and self-awareness. So we reject all of the programs that we have previously set in, and we have the confidence to say that we can change ourselves.
With Habit 2, we create in our minds the life we want to live.
Here, on a mental level, we create for the first time the foundations of our lives, setting the desired end result in the beginning.
Thanks to Habit 3 , we physically create the lives of our dreams, using the essence of the first two habits.
Naturally, the physical creation of things is not an easy task.
It is related to the sowing of the grain from the chaff and requires a stable systematization and prioritization of objectives and a qualitatively new level of self-organization.
The first two habits set the goal, direction and vision of our lives, while Navic 3 requires a healthy job. There is no way to make a healthy hard work if you do not know the purpose of the occupation and the direction of its realization. Everything inside and outside, an ancient truth that Cove skillfully uses in shaping the habits of a highly effective man. Habit 3 requires us to effectively manage the creative process by putting the most important things first.
Think about the following two questions:
- What is the thing you could do, and what if you do it regularly would cause a change in your life?
- What is the thing that would change your professional life in the same way?
Think boldly on them, and you will come to conclusions that will change your way of embracing life. Let's say we have a problem with extra pounds and we think regular exercise and attention to daily intake of foods will cause weight change, which will change our lives by giving us a healthier health. Here we move around Navek 1.
We want to take down the extra pounds and wonder how to do that. We begin to imagine how we go to the gym, and we take hold of the instruments.
We also keep an eye on our diet, where we already take a healthy diet over the calorie.
Here we are gravitating around Nave 2. Now we are in - we visit the fitness center in our free time systematically and accept quality food.
We are asked to break these two smaller parts into what exercises will help us to burn and burn more pounds more quickly and efficiently.
Which food will help us have enough fuel to survive the pressure in our lives, and so on. This is the territory of Navek 3.
Behind his scene is the will to acquire a physical form of our desires, and behind the will is faith in success.
Without these two valuable add-ons, Habit 3 would be unthinkable.
We want to be successful in the following areas: health, profession, money, hobby and family. Unfortunately, without prioritization, it is difficult to balance between such mutually exclusive actions, and the time of day is only 24 hours.
In order to be effective, we need to bring to light those activities that will best help us achieve our goals. Covie recommends us to work hard on time schedules, by means of which we will not waste our time and attention with activities that do not have a real effect on the goals we set.
So we will remove the excess from us and dedicate ourselves to the real thing.
The schedules are two types - long-term and short-term.
In the long-term we dash over the long-term goals to achieve, while in the short-term we pay attention to all the small steps we have to go today to reach our great goal and bring the long-term schedule to a happy ending. Imagine life as a role-playing game where you make decisions every day, make moves, and look for ways to get to the finish faster and easier.
In this way, Covie makes us have fun with the realization of Nave 3, because if one is positive and laughs, he will somehow argue. And he is very right!
With Habit 3 put the most important things first, we have a great tool that makes us physically trigger and shape our desires.
The main point here is the systematization of the precise actions and their realization in time schedules. To make it easier we need to "hack" our brain by playing a role in a game called life. All this hard work, however, is unthinkable without free will and faith! So put on your sleeves and start putting your important things first in your life, otherwise you will wonder why someone else lives the life you want to have.
