Wow, I have been in such a slump lately. I have not even been on Steemit for 29 days. One day just drifted into the next. I did not feel as if I had anything worthy of sharing. I have been struggling with myself to even know if I wanted to continue posting on steemit. There are so many important things in life that must be done, did I really think steemit was important? Or You Tube?
I have been busy for the last month. Lots of details that need to be worked out; but that was not the only reason for avoiding the keyboard. On occasion I volunteer at a thrift store, and finally after several weeks of not going in there, I was able to help out a few hours the other day. That was good.
With the cold weather outside, my husband and I went to bed around 9:30, but I was not able to go to sleep, so I came into the den and turned on the computer. Checked steemit and had some encouraging messages from several people. Thanks so much for your comments. I will respond to each of you and maybe I will begin to feel more like my old self.
Many of us go through that. So, no need to feel bad about any of it.
If I can say....
a steemit post doesn't have to be AMAZING... though you have had some of those. It can be as simple as this post here. Just something that lets us know you are there, thinking, planning or waiting for inspiration.
A question you may try to work out is: do you want to offer something to the internet(people on the internet)? Your cooking is great, do you want to share more of it? If you feel you have something to offer, then go with it.
Another option can be.... be like me... Most of my time spent on Steemit has not been as content creation, but as a commenter. It is actually something very lacking on Steemit. Something that is needed are users that mostly just 'consume' or 'interact' with others, but aren't often creating their own content. That is a NEED on steemit. Since most current Steemians are content creators, there needs to be more content consumers.
I know two Steemians that would rather just create content. They aren't always eager or able to be commenting and interacting and socializing... but until they get more faithful followers... they are bound to socialize in order to glean or bring people to their blog. Would you find purpose in being a commenter or follower? Maybe depends on finding the right people to follow.
Do you know that when you follow people you can then click on your "grannycooks image" (it is just generic at the moment) the one in the top right, and it should give you the option of "Feed". FEED is what shows you the most recent posts of those people that you are following. So it is an easy way to get on and interact with those that you are interested in.
okay.... Maybe I should make a Post about all this... I have gone a bit long. haha
Hope to hear from you again soon... as you feel it!
(Whatever you do... don't completely abandon the account.... if you are thinking of stopping all together, please contact me or someone you trust... each account has $$ value. Don't just abandon it.)
okay, much love,
until next time!

Hi opti! What a great reply and encouragement. I agree with you that sometimes we just need to comment. I do enjoy reading a good story from someone and that will often trigger a good comment. It does make us feel like we are partaking in good "company". Your reply has certainly lifted my spirits today. Much love back to you, too.
