What Should You Consider Before Quitting Your Job?

You hate your job. You are sad or mad at your boss or someone else, you don’t get promotion or the expected salary. The company takes you for granted and you think you don’t get paid as per your contribution. Or, maybe you know what it feels like working for someone else and you want to do something on your own.

Whatever the reason behind quitting your job, you should consider a couple of things before quitting your job.

If you quit your job, what are you going to do next? Do you want to work in another company? Are you sure that you will get the job after quitting your present job?

When you face job interview while having a job, you have the leverage. They might offer you something better because you have a job now. You do not have this advantage as soon as you quit your job. You may get a job, but it would be much easier to get a job when you have one.

You decided that you will not work for someone else. And you will do something on your own. So what are you going to do exactly? Do you have a proper plan for that?

You have a proper plan for your business. In this case, you have to consider how you will meet your daily expenses. You have to pay your bill and support your family. You start your business today, it does not mean you will start making money tomorrow. It takes time. So how are you going to support your family and pay your bill during that time? Do you have any plan or other source of income for that?

Okay, you have a plan, you quit your job and you have the expectation when you will start making money from your business. That’s fine. The reality is, you don’t know exactly what will happen unless you do it. For example, you want to swim. If you never get into water and start trying to swim, you will never know how it feels in the water and swimming over there. You have to taste it. It is the same as business.

One more thing, if you see people doing pretty well in something, it does not mean you will do better if you follow them and do it. On the other hand, if you see no one doing something, it does not mean you cannot do that. Try different things, and you will know it better.

You don’t have to be good at everything, but you have to be great at figuring out what you are great at and put your one hundred percent effort on that. All it takes are talent and effort to get things done successfully. Believe in yourself, go ahead and do your thing.
