The Yamaha YZF-R1 and YZF-R6 are popular supersport bikes. This motorbike still has the same DNA as the Yamaha YZR-M1 MotoGP bike. Both of these motorbikes are also widely used for racing purposes, both official racing or just track day. To that end, Yamaha Japan offers racing ready packages for the R1 and R6.
Specifically, Yamaha embedded a special ECU with the ability to adjust the fuel injectors more flexibly. The special ECU is also combined with a special electronic gas system.
As racing motorbikes, the R1 and R6 will also be stripped of unnecessary components, such as mirrors, lighting systems, horns, rear footsteps, rear fenders, and others. The goal is to pursue lighter weights.
For this racing-ready package, the R1 costs 2,255,000 yen, or around Rp. 317 million (Rupiah). Meanwhile, the R6 is priced at 1,243,000 yen, or around Rp. 174 million (Rupiah). If ordered from Indonesia, of course there are additional taxes and other costs. In Indonesia, PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) markets the R1 at a price of Rp. 605 million (OTR Jakarta) and R1M at Rp. 812 million (OTR Jakarta).
The R1 and R6 with these racing-ready packages can be ordered until the end of September 2020 and will begin shipping to consumers in January 2021.
