You will soon graduate from university, are looking for new opportunities or searching for a job in a new city and you found several jobs that meet your expectations. But now comes the main the challenge: the recruitment process.
What is the pain point?
You've successfully created your account and now you can upload your CV via a file or use your Linkedin profile. Or well you could do it old school and fill out everything manually.
Great that we have the quick upload then...
Well not really as the information extracted from your Linkedin or file are always mixed up or the dates simply do not match. Your university curriculum also didn't get identified. Somehow your proficiency in 4 languages have to be entered manually.
You click through all the sections, add your references, cover letter, diplomas etc..
After 35 minutes of hassle you are actually done. Then come the joy of online test, pre recorded video interviews but this is another story.
You then want to apply for a similar job at another company. Great they use the same software provider - Taleo - so all your information should already be ready to be sent. Well not at all and the same mistakes the quick upload/fill out function did last time are repeated. So you correct everything and after 30 more minutes you are done. I could have used this time to do a first interview with HR but was stuck uploading the same information over and over again.
Why Blockchain?
Candidates could simply put the information requested by companies on a secured -important as personal information is shared- ledger and share it for a few weeks with the companies they are applying for. The good things is that most companies ask for the same information. But a candidate could even choose what information they want to share for instance particular test scores that are only relevant for a particular company but not the rest.
An advantage for companies would also be that certificates, if approved by the right authority, could not be forged anymore and trust between both parties could be increased.
Blockchain could also be used to eliminate the current third parties like taleo (at least for the part of collecting candidate information) as information could directly go from the candidate to the company.
What do you think?
