Barberton daisy

Gerbera jamesonii is a flowering plant in the genus Gerbera belonging to the basal family Mutiseae within the large Asteraceae family. It is native to South East Africa and is commonly known as Barberton daisy, Transvaal daisy and in Afrikaans Barbertons medelifi or ruigosblom.

Fragrant flowers can be used as a spice while cooking. Incidentally, if you have green tamarind pulp, you can slice them, partially boil them in salted water, sun dry them or otherwise.
