Edward Snowden claims to have, "carefully evaluated every single document... to ensure that each was legitimately in the public interest", for what we now know is over 2 million documents, prior to releasing them. The problem is, he only worked at Booz Allen Hamilton for a few months.
NSA Director Keith Alexander stated that Snowden also worked for the NSA directly for 12 months prior to working with BAH. That would still mean that Snowden would have to review thousands of documents per day, which seems highly suspect.
