Lino-cut printing

in lino-cut •  7 years ago

So, one of my many interests is art, both watching it and making it. Since I can remember I've been drawing - birds mainly - and I've added other techniques like painting and most recently lino-cut printing over the years.

Lino-cut printing is a very rewarding pasttime, well at least it is to me. There are several stages in it. First you have to make or find a nice picture you want to print. Then, you have to decide what color(s) you are going to use and how you will use them in your composition. Cutting the lino is the following step, scary at the first cut and soothing afterwards. This is the crafty part. Eventually the printing starts. No matter how well you've planned everything, it's always a surprise how it ends up :-).

Well, while writing this I start to think I should write something about every stage in following posts. For now I'll just dump some of the pictures that I've made over the years.
