I'm little late guys, and I'm sorry for that but don't worry because 2019 is here geeks! Every year, new Linux distributions enter the market with the hope of making it big in the league of the best of best Linux distros. The Linux Open Source operating system, or Linux OS, is a freely distributable, cross-platform operating system based on Unix that can be installed on PCs, laptops, mobile and tablet devices, servers, supercomputers and more.

A distro, or distribution, is technical lingo abbreviation for a Linux operating system (OS). Each Distro is differentiated by its default interface, i.e. the way it looks, the library of apps officially supported by the specific “brand” of Linux, catalog of stock applications and even repositories.

1. Manjaro

Manjaro Linux, or simply Manjaro, is an open source operating system for computers. It is a distribution of Linux based on the Arch Linux distribution. Professional and user-friendly Linux at its best. Manjaro is a Linux distribution based on the independently developed Arch operating system. Mostly developed in Europe, Manjaro provides all the benefits of the Arch operating system, combined with a focus on user-friendliness and accessibility. It features a rolling release update model and uses Pacman as its package manager.

2. Mx Linux

MX Linux is a midweight Linux operating system based on Debian stable and using core antiX components, with additional software created and/or packaged by the MX community. It is developed as a cooperative venture between the antiX and former MEPIS communities, aiming to use the best tools and talents from each of these distributions.

3. Linux Mint

Linux Mint is an elegant, easy to use, up to date and comfortable GNU/Linux desktop distribution and a community-driven Linux distribution based on Debian and Ubuntu that strives to be a "modern, elegant and comfortable operating system which is both powerful and easy to use." Linux Mint provides full out-of-the-box multimedia support by including some proprietary software and comes bundled with a variety of free and open-source applications.

4. Ubuntu Linux

Ubuntu is an open source software operating system that runs from the desktop, to the cloud, to all your internet connected things. Which is based in Debian, Ubuntu is offered in three official editions: Ubuntu Desktop for personal computers, Ubuntu Server for servers and the cloud, and Ubuntu Core for the Internet of things devices. New releases of Ubuntu occur every six months, while long-term support releases occur every two years. Ubuntu is recommended for most users & for programmers also. It is designed for desktop and laptop PCs and officially supported by Canonical.

5. Elementary Os

Elementary OS is a Linux distribution based on Ubuntu. It is the flagship distribution to showcase the Pantheon desktop environment, similar to how Linux Mint introduced Cinnamon. The distribution promotes itself as a “fast and open” replacement to macOS and Windows. It focuses mainly on non-technical users and has a pay-what-you-want model. The OS is developed by elementary LLC.
