Linux and Voting

Today I decided to step back into the world of Linux and discovered Ubuntu. Now you tech heads out there might be laughing and saying Ubuntu? That's been around for years.

Well, yes, but I haven't touched Linux for 20 or so years. I think I had an old 486 IBM or something powerful like that when I last used it. It had 8kb of RAM and a huge 20Mb hard drive if I remember correctly.

Oh how things have changed and how they have changed significantly. The internet was in it's early stages back then and I couldn't afford the expensive dial-up internet access on a measly uni-student wage.

There were random chat rooms and websites were basic html. Oh the memories and the pain!

Well, now I have Ubuntu loaded up and it runs off a 2Gb USB as a trial. Thats only 2000x bigger than my original hard drive! I'll then just probably bootcamp an older Mac and install Linux on that machine.

Look out world, I am getting smarter again!

Thanks for reading!

Have a look at Linux Mint if you have time. I similarly got into Linux recently and am really happy with it.

Is it better than Ubuntu?

Now to get it on the Mac!

It is based off Ubuntu and (depending who you ask) takes it to the next level. I am certainly finding it pretty stable and user friendly. Sorry, I don't think there is a Mac version. Must have overlooked that part of your post.

No I'll bootcamp Mac and install. Sounds interesting.

Try Manjaro linux, it will bring you the latest software within two days of official release.
