Need: text editor (eg: nano on Linux Mint xfce, or gedit on other platform) from Software manager
To check what usb devices are enabled to wake up your linux, use the following command in your terminal:
>>> nano /proc/acpi/wakeup
(P/S: nano means using nano text editor to display the outcome, for gedit just replace the nano with gedit)
To find out which usb devices, you have to toggle each of the enabled usb devices & test it. To toggle, use this command:
>>> sudo -s
>>> echo EHC1 > /proc/acpi/wakeup
(P/S: sudo -s meant for root access)
The command above will disable the wake up until you reboot your PC. As a permanent solution, edit this file by using your favorite text editor in root mode: /etc/rc.local
Add this line in the rc.local, in this example, only one usb hub will be disabled.
>>> echo EHC1 > /proc/acpi/wakeup
Outcome of edited rc.local:
That's it. Now you are free from this unnecessary wake ups from this usb device :)
Cheers, follow me @sylviabrowyn & see you next time.
