A few days ago, I got a little bit addicted to Linux. Well, I am addicted to Linux already, but then I found an old laptop and I decided to install four different Linux operating systems on the machine. As a result, I now have a laptop running with Ubuntu, Elementary OS, Linux Mint, and Manjaro Linux.
I will not just play around with the Linux distributions, but I will also use them to write interesting articles in the IP Address Guide dealing with the different operating systems. As a result, I already wrote an article about the best VPN for Elementary OS which you can check out by clicking the link.
Even if you don't want to read the article, I would still check it out, because Elementary OS looks really stunning. I am not a big fan of Apple or their products, even though I have got to admit that the iPad my wife got 10 years ago still rocks the globe and works very well, besides the fact that I cannot update it to the newest version of iOS, meaning that there are lots of apps I cannot install. But, besides that, it is still a great iPad. But, I have never bought a Macintosh, and I have never bought an Apple Watch or an iPhone.
But, Elementary OS looks very much like macOS and that is actually quite neat. It is also easy to use, and that is important.
There are lots of main distributions for Linux, and Ubuntu is the most popular of them all. This is built on Debian, and most operating systems will have lots of similarities with their mother. Both Linux Mint and Elementary OS are built on Ubuntu, meaning that it gives them an advantage, being easy to use and it is also very easy to install programs. That is why VPN services like Surfshark and PureVPN which have great GUI apps for Ubuntu, also will work properly in both Linux Mint and Elementary OS.
Manjaro Linux is a different story as it is built on Arch, a system with which I have little to no experience (YET). But, maybe I will have some time to look into it later today?!
Anyway, check the article above, and maybe you should try to install Ubuntu, Linux Mint, or Elementary OS yourself? They all look beautiful so it is well worth trying!
