Maybe difficult to catch a virus but not impossible. Still - you can still be used to distribute a virus to others. Depending on your own internet behavior.

    This. When your Linux machine serves files to Windows clients (e.g. a Linux mail or file server), you better run some AV software.

    But for a desktop or laptop I agree with you.
