Neymar has a unique talent in the world of soccer.
A talent that puts him in a class of his own. This is the category to which Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo belong.
Nevertheless, Neymar has never managed to match these two legends for a number of reasons.
The most obvious reason for me is his physical fragility. Whatever the reasons, Neymar is too often injured. His body is too fragile to sustainably perform at the level he can achieve from time to time in spades.
Is his poor lifestyle to blame? Or is he simply more physically fragile than Messi or Ronaldo?
I don’t know. In any case, it totally penalizes him.
Then, the second reason I see is his lack of desire to be the best over the long term.
CR7 and Messi always have that desire to score, to win and to be at the top. Neymar has this desire for short periods, such as a World Cup with Brazil, or a few weeks with PSG, but as time goes by, he abandons soccer and training to become less demanding and scattered.
He parties, then plays poker, then goes to parties, etc. ... or organizes parties at home. In short, he’s not as obsessed with soccer as CR7 and Messi.
As a result, he won’t be able to match them in the history of soccer. He will remain a unique talent who will never have fully achieved all that he could in soccer. And yet, his career is already exceptional, but you can be sure that he could still do much better.
