Lip-Sync Super Bowl Chatter Expertly Shut Down by Sheryl Lee Ralph: "Does It Matter?"

Unbeknownst to some, lip-syncing during the Super Bowl is rather common. Even with instruments, it occurs. Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed at the 2014 Super Bowl without his bass connected to an amplifier. This is due to the NFL's requirement that musicians and artists record backup tracks in advance to prevent unforeseen live problems. They record everything beforehand as an insurance policy when getting ready for one of the most viewed live television events of the year. Whether it's for the national anthem or the Halftime Show, the recording is frequently made during a Super Bowl practice.

Whitney Houston's 1991 Super Bowl national anthem is still regarded as the best of all time even though her mic wasn't live (she was singing live over a pre-recorded track, but her mic was off). During her soaring Super Bowl Halftime Show, Rihanna sang live into a live mic over pre-recorded music. Chris Stapleton sang his bluesy national anthem live. Additionally, Babyface provided live vocals for his rendition of "America the Beautiful."

Quinta basically chose me for this moment, so it's pure magic. They are sleeping on your gift, Mrs. Ralph, but I am not, she remarked. Come along on this adventure with me. And everything she said will come true. I am here. It's crazy," Ralph gushed about her co-star, who has since won an Emmy and a Golden Globe. This served as a small cherry on top. All of this has taken us a little by surprise. It's incredible. We're content. We're overjoyed.

The 2023 Super Bowl will undoubtedly be remembered because of Ralph, Stapleton, Babyface, Rihanna, the athletes, and the advertisements.
