ETHEREUM AND LITECOIN MAKE A SHOWDOWN IN MARKETS. "WE ARE HERE TO STAY"

Hey everyone,

The cryptocurrency markets have recently been incredibly bullish, with new investors and money coming in every day due to mainstream press coverage and success stories.

Litecoin (LTC/USD), Ethereum (ETH/USD), and Bitcoin (BTC/USD) in particular have been moving quite rapidly in the last 24 hours, with massive increases in activity on the popular exchange Coinbase. Coinbase even had to temporarily suspend Ethereum and Litecoin trading due to the massive amount of volume they were receiving.

Litecoin‘s initial rally began on December 8th, when the price moved over 50% from around $99, to a peak of $162. After stabilizing, a second rally occurred over the span of two days, where it hit a new all-time high yesterday at $215, and another at $420 on popular exchange GDAX. Litecoin is currently trading around the $350 range and is up nearly 10,000% in one year.

Ethereum began its rally late last night when prices initially moved into the $500 range. The initial rally hit its peak at around $544, before coming back down into the $520-530 range. Once Litecoin‘s rally slowed down, Ethereum hit another rally that broke the $600 barrier, reaching a new all-time high of around $640. The price is currently correcting and has since moved toward the low $600 range.

Bitcoin has since picked up some momentum from the two rallies and moved $1,000 higher to sit back in the mid to high $17,000s. The CBOE futures opening for Bitcoin helped its price two days ago, but now it seems Bitcoin is poised to take off yet again in lieu of the CME futures opening on December 18th.

Where the markets go from here is anyone’s call, but the rapid price increases are bound to draw the attention of investors who’ve been waiting on the sidelines.
