Literature is important in many ways. It serves us in many ways. We learn about mankind more and more . It would be wrong to think that literature is merely imagination of people. It is much more than that. It preserves the ideals,love, believe of people. The Greeks were marvelous people ,yet of their all works we cherish only a few ideals.
Think about the ideal of you forefathers. Without knowing the ideals of them you can’t know them. So how can you know their ideals,their thoughts, their beliefs ? The ideals of your forefathers are written in hundreds of books by hundreds of writer. By reading those books and papers we come to learn about them. The ideals that are being carried from generation to generation is the foundation of our civilization.
Think about the ideals that has its start in the time of “Beowulf” . Our first literary piece. The ideals of that time has been carried to this future by the flow of literature. It is the only medium to carry our thoughts and ideals from generation to generation. Life has a end at last. But before the life ends you can preserve you thoughts and ideals for next generations. is not it great ?
The devout Muslims are great because of their preservation. The preserve all the pieces of papers where something is written because there might be name of Allah. So they preserve all . This is an ideals that is praiseworthy not for them but also for the rest of the people on earth. Because all the pieces of writings deserve to be preserved. Who knows what may come out of what!
So at the end of the day we all should keep in mind that literature is not something that is too cool for its amusement but it is cool because at the end of the day it might be the new beginning.
