Today was, yet again, a tragic day for the people of Peshawar as three terrorists, disguised in female clothing, entered the Agriculture University of Peshawar and killed multiple innocent students before security forces neutralized them. Attacks like these are not rare in Pakistan since the start of war on terror in neighboring Afghanistan. I happen to live in close proximity to the university; therefore, this attack has a profound effect on me personally.
Moreover, it was a special day as the celebrations across the country were taking on the eve of the birth of Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). One is forced to contemplate about why this day was chosen for this inhuman act.? A day on which the biggest champion of human rights was born. Paradoxically, this attack and the ones before are usually done in the name of Islam. I think, the only thing these groups want to achieve is fear in the hearts and minds of people. If this is what they want, I am not going to give them anything by staying upright and motivated. It is time to remain positive in the face of danger because every cloud has a silver lining and every dark night is followed by a bright morning.
