The Hubble Space Telescope has observed dozens of celestial objects that can also be spotted with backyard telescopes, binoculars, or even the unaided eye. We just released a new Hubble gallery of such objects that were cataloged by the 18th century French astronomer Charles Messier for looking like comets but turned out instead to be star clusters, nebulas, and galaxies.Watch this Facebook Live on Oct. 19 at 8:00pm ET to learn about Hubble’s Messier catalog. Find out what Hubble has revealed about these interesting objects during its investigations. And learn how you can view some of these objects yourself while you’re outside looking for meteors.
