Actors of our own life
My form of expression has always been writing excellence, so that being the theater part of this, it is not strange that for a long time was my only authentic form of active-verbal expression. I did not grieve to be in front of more people, rather I liked it. I loved it because there were no mistakes, I was not me but many others. On the stage and under the reflector I was existed not only for others but for myself.
On stage you can be many characters, and among them all, yourself. Among makeup, costumes, voices and gestures, we can get a little of everything that we reguarded inside. We can cry or laugh without having a clear motive to do it, we can let be all those emotions that every day we insist on hiding and not feeling. We can be the villains or the heroes without feeling bad for it, we can be who we want without asking why.
The theater is considered part of the fifth art and belongs to literature, and arts, they are said to be means of expression, ways to manifest thoughts, ideas, feelings, emotions, perspectives, beliefs, criticism, and many other things. For me, the theater was a way of getting to know myself a bit more, even though at the time I was not fully aware of this.
We are actors in our own lives, whether we are part of a script that is written day by day or a previously written story, we bring to reality our thoughts, ideas and emotions. The theater is no more then a reflection of life and everything we can be in it; we can act a thousand roles and in all of them we can express a bit of our true essence.
We can build the story of a character inspired by our previous experiences, and that is when we allow ourselves to experiment or explore other emotions, reactions and consequences in such a situation. Both create and interpret a character allows us to know ourselves more, not only because it is a way to express ourselves, but because it is a way to challenge us to reflect and not just react.
