I don't really comprehend the point of this. I bid on the chance of being voted once? That seems like a lot of work for little benefit.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

    There is actually quite a decent benefit, I bid 0.01 SBD and usually receive an upvote that is worth 10X as much.
