Good afternoon, Steemians!
I thought I would basically plug a great coin dealer that is in my area that I've used a few times. I visited The Coin and Jewelry Exchange of South Florida today to sell a few unwanted silver items. Lately, I've been switching out some silver that I don't want for other silver I do want - call it a personal preference, but a man's stack is a man's stack.
About a year ago, when my wife and I closed on our home where we are currently located, we needed a few hundred dollars more than we thought to close the deal, so we looked on Google for a reputable coin dealer so that I could sell a few of my 10 ounce bars and get some quick cash to bring to the closing (that day). We walked right in and John understood our situation and we were on our way within minutes. (I believe the title company told us the wrong amount twice so we had to go back to this place two times that day.)
Today, I walked in and wanted to sell 17 ounces of silver. John, the owner wanted to know what I wanted for each piece. I told him, and he countered $13 lower. I asked him to come up $10 and he said he would. I got within $3 of my asking price for all 17 ounces. I don't know of many places that will do that. He actually paid me above spot for the pieces I was selling (2 were just bullion bars and 2 others were coins in a series - all BU). He was also willing to trade me for ASEs, but I saw it was a better deal if I just took cash.
When I was ready to leave, John actually asked me, jokingly, "Are you going to go buy some Bitcoin with that cash?" I laughed, and found it a perfect opportunity to mention Steemit to him. He hadn't heard of Steemit, but I left him my username and the website and basically told him the schpeel, "It's a social media platform where you can earn $$$ if people like your content", etc. He seemed interested and I think he's going to open an account. I told him I would make a post about his business (to incentivize him to make an account and read my post) so I hope he reads this.
John owns the only coin shop that I have ever heard of with 5.0/5.0 stars on Google Reviews, and he has 30 reviews, so it's not just a couple of his friends that have given him 5 stars. I highly recommend this business for any of your coin and jewelry related purchases/sales.
So, if you're ever in the area, stop on by and tell John that @vegansilverstack sent you. You might just get a deal ;) Thanks for stopping by, Steemians!
