People wonder if this image was Photoshopped - and it wasn’t. Next time you have a tripod and are shooting long exposures in the evening, find a cool looking sign and in the middle of the exposure zoom either in or out to get this effect. This image was taken from the house of Blues across the street from Fenway Park.

For the most part you can get decent shots from a kit camera. Kit meaning a camera that costs around $500 that comes with a lens or 2.

Photography is ALL ABOUT lighting. One reason professionals spend a lot of money on better camera bodies and glass (lenses) is for the ability to shoot in low light. Like in weddings and events.

For some shoots my kit costs well over $15,000 usd. So you've been warned that photography can be an expensive hobby or endeavor. :)

Thanks - I took a peek at your blog and you definitely look at things differently than I would have. If we'd go on a photo tour together we'd have drastically different images!
