Say Goodbye To Low Humidity Beach Weekend Ahead
If we could only keep today's weather for most of the summer. I don't think there would be too many complaints unless you really really love heat and humidity. Skies are clear this evening and we will have another night of clear skies across Long Island though it will not be as cool as it was this morning. Most lows will be in the low 60s but there will be some 50s in the normal Suffolk County cool spots. Clouds on the satellite loop are of the high thin variety and pose no issues for us during the overnight. Nor should we concern ourselves with showers through the daytime Wednesday.
EASTERN SATELLITE LOOP
Clouds will be increasing and thickening up Wednesday with highs in the low to mid 70s with an ocean wind. Wednesday night into Thursday clouds thicken and there will be the chance for some downpours Thursday morning though it seems the bulk of those showers will pass to our north. There still could be the risk for another downpour or thunderstorm during the day Thursday with highs reaching into the 80s. Humidity will be noticeably higher on Thursday. Then the heat and humidity begin to take hold on Friday.
Friday we will see 90 degrees being hit in the warmest spots in Nassau County and Northwest Suffolk but it will be more like mid to upper 80s. Saturday the 90 degree highs will be a bit more widespread. Relief both days will be available at the shore. Sunday will be the hottest of the stretch with highs reaching the lower 90s over a large area and the sea breeze limited to the coast. Pop up thunderstorms should be few and far between Friday and through the weekend. Next week the heat could be tempered by more of a south wind developing Monday and Tuesday and if this does materialize it will be humid but temperatures will in the 80s to perhaps near 90 in the warmest spots and 70s at the beaches.
