Hoshea, the last king of Israel: The LORD was very angry with Israel and removed them from his presence. Only the tribe of Judah was left. 2 Kings 17:18

Idolatry is a serious sin that breaks the spiritual relationship with God, as the sacred texts teach to men, and this sin, together with the abandonment of the commandments of the Lord, was the cause of the disappearance of the Kingdom of Israel during the reign of Hoshea.
The Second Book of Kings, when explaining the causes of the fall of the Kingdom of Israel and its last king, did it so because the sacred text invited men to reflect on the law of God. If men want to be truly blessed, men must not forget that the Lord blesses those who approach him with awe; because the moral obligations of man are summarized in these few words: "Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man" Ecclesiastes 12:13.
King Hosea did not put his trust in God, as David did, he also did what is evil in the eyes of God, and was reckless in provoking the action of the tyrant Shalmaneser, ruler of the Assyrian empire, who devastated and conquered the country, deporting all its inhabitants to avoid possible rebellions in the future. Hosea was in every way a real fool, and in this way, this king reaped what he sowed: "The wise inherit honor, but fools get only shame" Proverbs 3:35.
With these simple words, the Bible summarizes why God allowed the disappearance of the tribes of Israel except Judah:
"So the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them from his presence. Only the tribe of Judah was left, and even Judah did not keep the commands of the LORD their God. They followed the practices Israel had introduced. Therefore the LORD rejected all the people of Israel; he afflicted them and gave them into the hands of plunderers, until he thrust them from his presence" 2 Kings 17:18-20.
With these stories, God does not seek the suffering of man, but rather to admonish and instruct him in the importance of fidelity and perseverance in the ways of providence.
