The first Christians: The Lord worked with them and proved that their preaching was true by the miracles that were performed. Mark 16:20

The Gospel of Mark relates that after the death of Jesus on the cross, his body was taken to a tomb by Joseph of Arimathea who asked Pontius Pilate for the body, and on the first day of the week, Sunday, the Lord mysteriously rose from the dead.
The Gospel of Mark also relates that Jesus then appeared alive to Mary Magdalene and two other disciples who were heading to a village, until finally, and thus ends the Gospel of Mark, Jesus appeared to the eleven remaining disciples and gave them a final message: "So wherever you go in the world, tell everyone the Good News. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned" Mark 16:15-16.
Jesus knew that the disciples had not received the Holy Spirit and with this encounter, he was preparing them for the Christian Pentecost, which would give birth to the Church. In a world marked by oppression, concealment, and deception, the first Christians needed a special help, the transformative gifts of the grace, to bring the gospel, the spiritual message of the Lord, and his spiritual kingdom to all corners of the world for the salvation of all.
And so with the spiritual gifts granted by the doctor par excellence of the Church, the Holy Ghost, a final teaching was fulfilled: "The Lord worked with them and proved that their preaching was true by the miracles that were performed" Mark 16:20. And despite the threats and the persecution suffered by the early Church beginning with the martyrdom of Stephen, this spiritual teaching was especially accomplished with the three missionary journeys of the apostle Paul who, by order of God, brought the gospel to the Greco-Roman world. Jesus never abandoned his disciples and constantly strengthened them in the mission, and so the faith of the first Christians allowed a simple sect from the East like many others to become the largest world religion in history.
