getting grounded

I'm home today unable to teach as a cold has taken me down for the count. I've sidestepped most flu seasons but every few years, a cold knocks me out. Boo! I've got stuff to do. Wonderful people like this silly student above to teach. But I've pushed the envelope this past week. After feeling so thrilled to put on my flamenco shoes again and then attending an awe-inspiring evening at the Hollywood Bowl, I thought attending a silent disco for family night at the galleria would be a great way to declare I am on the wellness road of my car accident recovery. For the evening, I was part of the joy and smiles, dancing with friends and neighbors, and seeing kids dance with their parents and grandparents. I even saw new parents dance with their babies in their arms. It was a very sweet evening.

And no one blew out their ears AND can talk by simply taking their headphones off. I seriously want to have a silent disco when I get married. I spent my cousin's wedding outside of the banquet hall a couple of summers ago because it was the best way to play catch up with family I don't see often.

We had soooo much fun that we immediately reserved to return to next month's silent disco and bring more friends. Here's a link if you are in Los Angeles and want to check it out next month.

It ended at 10pm, an early evening for grown ups. So what did R and I do? We went for a snack at Bobs Big Boy in Burbank. I wanted to try their chocolate colas and waffles. It was classic car night. There's always a good crowd. I'm trying to post a photo but it is not loading properly.

I will continue with the next post. I'm sniffly and need to take some more Chinese herbs to fight my fever.
