After I snapped this shot, he turned around told me that I was the 4th person to photograph him at work. I explained that it was a complex message, with the rise of ketamine use, and the universal angst between artists and authority, compounded by the meta theatrical irony of a civil servant removing the message. He said “Ich verstehe dich nicht” so I just congratulated him on becoming a meme.
