I just can't get enough

of the views around my new home
of Loutraki, Greece!

Food for my eyes!

Summer is gone.........

Winter is coming on

The Gulf Of Corinth

is seldom the sea of glass
it often was in hot summer months

Often I need to wear a jacket now

Still there are

oranges, lemons and limes in the trees:

Though it's like summer where I am and it's been raining quite a lot lately, I still envy you can see these. Sometimes, I do miss the change of season.

Turn Turn Turn

Thanks. This is nice. I think heard it before but not often. The one season mentioned song I would have think of is this:

There is just something about the Mediterranean that I just haven't seen elsewhere... I realize the Gulf of Corinth is protected, but it's still the same water. Your new surroundings look not that different from where I spent my teen years at the opposite end... near Gibraltar, with a view of North Africa.

Much as I love the state of Washington, I miss the warm sea sometimes, and the pebbly beaches...

Much as I miss the Pacific Northwest, I'm glad I'm here!

Congratulations @onceuponatime!

Aw, shucks. You're making me blush :-)

Were are the bikini pics?

Sorry. They are behind a pay wall :-)

you are very lucky to have a house in the middle of natural beauty
thank you for sharing and beautiful scenery, cool, and perfect for relaxing.

Greece is beautiful every time of the year. You discover that only if you are blessed to stay for more than one season.

So true!

When our soul is in harmony everything is beautiful.

And when our soul is out of harmony, everything is beautiful still. We just don't notice it :-)

Yes indeed!

enjoy these happy moments in this beautiful place! Probably i will be in April in Loutraki for a trail running race :) i'm waiting for the announcement, greetings from Athens

Is there a website link to the trail running event?

unfortunately is in greek ... i hope that they will make an official website in english in the near future

Thank you!

When you are bored of loutraki you can may wanna visit Pieria, Greece. I will take you for a tour, take care of your accomodation and even buy you some beers :P

That is an offer that is going to be very hard to resist!

I recommend summer, if you like nature I know some really cool places that you will remember for a lifetime! Don't hesitate to contact me whenever you want. I also plan to come in Athens sometime soon to meet @rouketas irl maybe you wanna join us :D

...cool places that you will remember for a lifetime!"

Unfortunately, in my case, a lifetime is not that long anymore :-)

You have signed a contract with the Creator ?
I agree with @trumpman and allow me to add some nice paths in Olympus.

My lawyer wouldn't let me sign a contract with the Creator. Didn't trust His "fine print" at the bottom apparently.

You have more info than me on the subject. :)

Perhaps it's time you got a good lawyer too?

You're right. Every season has its beauty!

Yeah? Which season has my beauty? (Unless you quote at least a century, you're in trouble!)

In Greece we keep wearing bikinis in our hearts even in cold winter :P

I feel jealous of you having the sea around your house. Enjoy it as much as you can! :D

You mean I'm going to have to win hearts just to see a bikini this winter? I guess I will have to just learn to live without :-)

Hehe! Basically I meant that it's always summer in our warm hearts no matter the weather or season :P

Now you are starting to sound like a politician :-)

Is that any better? :P

Is that the Greek national anthem?

Yeah, but only during the summer months :P

See. I told you you are sounding like a politician. Equivocating like that could get you elected to high office!

sad but true ! only bikini competitions will save us ! hehe

Well, I'm pretty sure a bikini contest could save me come January or Februaray :-)
I can see it now: The first annual Loutraki Winter Bikini Contest sponsored by @rouketas and @onceuponatime

Steemit needs this contest. There is so much steem all around all the time. Need a vent :D

I saw a comment of yours elsewhere and liked your sense of humour, so I ended up here. Nice to see that you are into photography.

What made you choose Loutraki? I'm not being critical, just curious, was it the thermal baths? Do you use them?

uhm, if you are not going to see any bikinis, maybe life will be good to you and you'll see some bourquinis? (what a lousy joke).

I had a good friend in Loutraki who has been very helpful in getting me settled in Greece (@liondani).

Thanks.

I don't have many memories of it, but it played an extremely important role in my life.

Family and friends, we went to Loutraki for the day and to swim while the elders use the baths.

On the way back, a girl sitting in the back stood up for me when somebody said something a bit nasty to me, I turned around to look at her (we were friends) and as I looked her in the eyes, I fell in love.

I ended up loving her for over 25 years and in many ways, a daughter she had become like a daughter to me (I thought of her as the daughter of my heart).

In all, I'm glad I went to Loutraki.

Since Loutraki is close to the isthmus, I'll tell you a small historical story that not many know.

If you recall, in WWII, the Italians started as allies of Germany, invaded Greece and the Germans had to rush in to save them. Then Italy broke the alliance and Greeks had to save the lives of thousands of Italian prisoners. The Germans decided to get rid of their Italian prisoners, so they placed them on a train for the Peloponese. Whem it rode over the Isthmus, the rails had been removed and the train fell down. There were no survivors.

Greece has always been a country of tragedy, hasn't it?

From out of the muck a beautiful lotus can arise!

...and the area around Loutraki is great! Key point for excursions to many places of interest.
But you have first to enjoy the town itself. :)
Take care once and every time!

Please don't call me "every time". My alter ego @twicuponatime is already quite jealous. He could become insufferable.

:) You two co-operate to conquer time!

Wow !!!. Is this your new home ? You are living in paradise, @onceupoatime :) ... Gulf of Corinth is gorgeous. The last pic is so atmospheric. And the skies and clouds you have captured are simply breathtaking :) .... and the mountains and hills are not too far ;) This has got to be paradise.:D

Well, even if it is not Paradise, it is for sure a stop along the way!

Oh Yes ! All the stops along the way, resemble the destination in every way :)

Excellent shots and i appreciate your photography, i agree with your words that all weathers and seasons are great and every weather has some sort of benefit and beauty, i personally like spring and autumn the most because the temperature in those seasons is constant and it won't hurt much, thanks for sharing very nice photography with us, Stay blessed

Good post your @onceuponatime beautiful natural beauty. thank you for sharing with us

@onceuponatime - Sir, to live & spend time in a beautiful place we all need to be lucky.... So, you are a lucky man Sir.... Wish you a wonderful time with your new house Sir.... <3

+W+

Somebody once said, and I think it might be true, "The harder I work the luckier I get."

@onceuponatime - Sir, it's a nice lesson to all of us.... Wish a wonderful time with your new life journey....

+W+

With some of these shots, especially the fourth one featuring umbrellas, sea, sky and lights, I can discern a photographer in the making in there and your poetic senses are finding resurgence surrounded by beauties your body, mind and soul were crying for!

Much blessings on this new journey "Paolo of Corinthia", my heart is with you, keep your smile and taking good care, Steem on and, above all, thrive on!

Namaste :)

"Paolo of Corinthia"? Didn't he write letters in the Bible or something like that?

It must have been one of your passed lives!?! You are slowly returning home... ;)

Namaste :)

I hear that Corinth was famous for its "Temple prostitutes" back in the day. Who knows what is calling me home :-)

LOL!!! ALL OF THE ABOVE!!! Namaste :)

What heavenly pictures! Are you still roaming on planet Earth?
Have a blissful time in your new home but please don't make us jealous!!!

I need a GPS to see if I am still on Earth. My sense of direction sucks!

Great! I just learned that sometimes directionless journey leads you to unimaginable places that everyone asks you for directions to it 😊.

It looks a bit like some places in Italy. but I guess the weather there is even sweeter, :)

Do you have a sweet tooth?

Do they have good pastry in Greece? :)

Are you trying to knock me off the straight and narrow path? :-)

https://www.thespruce.com/greek-desserts-4128420

there is no virtue without temptations :D

I know. I have overcome the temptation to succumb to the vanity of being thin and in good shape!

that's wisdom. I saw the same truth since when I was 40yo :)

Future artists will be painting icons of you and me. They will say "He was triumphant over vanity! Just look at his stomach!"

I think you live in beautiful place, near to nature ("oranges, lemons and limes in the trees") that's a blessing. You're lucky :)

I like your thoughts:

"Food for my eyes,
Food for my soul "

I just want to add: Food for my mind (which I do it)

@onceuponatime By reading your few posts and especially this one I'm fascinated with your thought pattern, and grateful that I came across your posts (not because of that I study philosophy and spiritually) but I felt while reading your many posts in a row :)

Yes, it's a blessing and I am blessed. Thanks for stopping by.

We have a saying in "Greece is everything." Excellent photos.

I know exactly how you feel. I also live in a beach town and as the days have started to get shorter and the nights a little cooler, my attire has changed from shorts and a t-shirt to pants and a jacket. Time to get into steemit mode for the winter ahead and be ready for the warm weather that awaits next spring

You miss the bikinis too?

haha indeed I do

Excellent photography sir,

Greek Steemian Of The Week #10

Enjoy "Lord Byron" :P

I certainly hope that this is "truth in advertising" and you're not one of those used car sales ladies!

Oh no! I don't do that, although I have a great collection of plastic food containers (τάπερ) if you're interested :P

Anyone who collects plastic food containers obviously has been appointed a mission in life by Higher Forces. Maybe you should reconsider running for office :-)

If you say so, I might consider it in the future :P

Can I be your campaign manager? With your honesty, and my corruption, we'll make a fortune!!!!

Sure! :D

beautiful photos of natures and it give lots of peace to mind when we get to see this kind of beauty.

Well thank you! Your comments had a lot of fire power with me :-)

You are most welcome, buddy! I appreciate it. :)

Such a remarkable captures in Greece. Outstanding narration with grand visualization. You catch all of pic from various degrees. Dear all pls look all of once. Its seems winter is coming and summer was going.Near to the beach area. Very best for relaxation and stay traveling.
I see some of little mountain from this pics. It mean we can climbing here. Wow...great adventure.
Upvoted & Resteemed.

Looks really a peaceful and relaxing place! I've never lived in a city close to the sea like Loutraki , but I think the winter will give very interesting colors to the seascape . Hugs ^_^

And I don't even have to leave my balcony to capture photos of the seascape!

From yuor balcony??? wow, so you have really a great view directly from your home, great! I can see some mountains from my backyard, it's not the same of a wonderful seascape, but it's better than many buildings :D

Actually, I'm at least as much of a mountain afficianado as a seascape lover. Some of the peak moments of my life were spent gazing at mountain vistas from my verandas in the Himalayas.

Wait!!! Himalayas??? Wow, I don't have words!
I don't know why (maybe because I was born between the mountains, even if just small mountains), but montains actract me more than sea and make me feel "at home". Seascape has a strange effect on me, when the dark comes, it make me feel melancholy like I miss something or someone. At the end, I think we can find the beauty in every kind of view and we have to enjoy every sensation it can give us ;)

Mountains are awesome. But they produce a much harder life than seaside living. Same with deserts.

Really Excellent shots and i appreciate your photography.....
Beautiful every time of the year....Thanks @onceuponatime
