Genuine love in the Bible: Because I love your commands more than gold, more than pure gold. Psalm 119:127

Psalm 119 deals in one of its parts with the importance of genuine love, the spiritual love, the love projected to the whole creation of God, because this form of love (in greek language Agape) makes the man wise; and like seeks like, just as the wise seek the company of other wise people, fools seek those who are like them.
The psalmist begs God for his divine protection and the fulfillment of the promised blessings, because love is a bond of union, and God corresponds to those who love him with a good heart. In a world given over to sin, oppression is a constant threat, and the author of the song expressed his innocence and concern about being freed from this serious evil, and so the Psalm teaches:
"I have done what is righteous and just;
do not leave me to my oppressors.
Ensure your servant's well-being;
do not let the arrogant oppress me.
My eyes fail, looking for your salvation,
looking for your righteous promise.
Deal with your servant according to your love
and teach me your decrees" Psalm 119:121-124.
And then the Psalmist, because of his unconditional love for God (Agape), no longer asks to be freed from deceit, oppression, and injustice, but instead requests the most valuable thing that can be asked for, not vengeance, riches, or gold, but instead the spiritual gifts of wisdom, understanding, and discernment to deeply understand the meaning of the divine law:
"I am your servant; give me discernment
that I may understand your statutes.
It is time for you to act, LORD;
your law is being broken.
Because I love your commands
more than gold, more than pure gold,
and because I consider all your precepts right,
I hate every wrong path" Psalm 119:125-128.
With this prayer, the Bible teaches that genuine love is the progressive and expansive love that blesses those who give it and those who receive it.
