God's unconditional love: See how I love your commandments, LORD. Give back my life because of your unfailing love. Psalm 119:159

The Psalm 119 is a devotional psalm dedicated especially to the blessing of the law of Moses. And the Psalm in a very repetitive manner teaches the spiritual link between the law and the love. The Lord, through his eternal and unconditional love, gave the law to Moses on Mount Horeb, but men by the covenant must respond in the same way to God, love is ultimately a perfect bond of union. It must remembered that this love that the Bible speaks of is not just any type of love but the supernatural love of God, the love projected towards all creation, the expansive, edifying, and benevolent love. In the Greek language, this form of love is called Agape.
This is why the Psalm invokes the spiritual love of God source of all mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness), wisdom, and protection for men with these words:
"Hear my voice in accordance with your love;
preserve my life, LORD, according to your laws" Psalm 119:149.
And the Psalm continues with this admiration for that perfect love (Agape) that grants the accomplishment of the law and the true life to men; because oppression in a society given over to sin destroys the hope of men and only in God is the true refuge: "See how I love your commandments, LORD. Give back my life because of your unfailing love" Psalm 119:159.
Because the spiritual love (Agape) illuminates the minds of men as the dawn illuminates the eyes of man, and it is with this light that men travel along the safe path together with the law, a light that is the origin of the common sense; this is why the Psalm at the end makes clear the importance of love as the true fundament of all law and justice for men: "Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble" Psalm 119:165.
