Sea-villagess vanished

.
Archetype of ocean,
animated starshade and furnace,
pursuer of eternities of steam.

Cloud-pestilence
that heals the one
infected by its absence,
descending to arrive
at the juncture glimmering.

Rivers of braids
connecting my past
with impossibilities.
Blooming embrace of youth,
forever-inward entrained.

She whose smile burns portals through agony,
behind me a presence, a solid void.
In the void's lungs, breathing,
she whose lungs breathe worlds into being.

Worlds that rain through sideways dimensions
to synchronize my gaze with eternities of polarities married
through the glory of incomprehensible helices.

Brushes, the shockwaves of skin.
Skin, the emptiness of shock's erasure.
Eraserless, limitless mother, maiden:
marred desperation.

Nuance of nothingness
in memory's vicegrip.

Touches stone-blunt, imagined,
dire with hallucination's howling irreverence.
Chemistry daughter of paradox,
she who leads down to the hallowèd sea grove
on paths that vanish in the pages of my palm.

I try to understand and I get confused. The closure electrifies me. As if he had left an illusion in the past.

"Shockwaves of skin", skin, skill, sin... sharp skin, sensual skin... and many more possible variations of senses and meanings. You are consistent in prompting me to poeticize comments, friend ;) . Upvoted.

Calidad :p

Nicely done. I appreciate the creativity you put into the poem and your choice of words and images. Thanks my friend.

Amazing, love this poetry!!

@d-pend,

Hey mate. The images didn't load but I took a look at the links (obviously, a good idea to include them).

I could be delusional (it happens) but this poem makes me think of one's mother.

She whose smile burns portals through agony,
behind me a presence, a solid void.
In the void's lungs, breathing,
she whose lungs breathe worlds into being.

The mother that believes in you and your dreams and, supportively standing behind you, helps bring them to life, to make them a reality, despite all the obstacles of life.

To further my musings about your poetic style, the use of abstraction doesn't lock the reader into "your story" but rather acts like a trigger to form your own. A dozen people could come up with a dozen different interpretations depending (no pun intended) upon their "cognitive biases." They become "the creator" as much as was the poet.

That's an interesting effect and undoubtedly would cause the Right Anterior Superior Temporal Gyrus (the seat of "insight") to go crazy. Neurologically, this is a big deal as the RASTG is also critical in creating "self-relevance" ... the poem (or more accurately, it's meaning), ends up feeling like their own creation. And THAT's powerful mojo.

"You lead a horse to water ... and make him think."

I'm mulling over how to use it in my "more concrete style" of poetry. My poems tend to be allegorical and I want the reader to "contemplate my message." So, it's not self-evident that the two styles can be combined as it may simply be a trade-off ... you sacrifice one thing for the other.

It's something to think about though.
