The arc between

Smash ephemerality,
Spark from eye to eye,
Reflect from mind to mind.
Increase through ages leisurely,
Abscond in part in times of war.
In crevices they multiply, all space
Becomes their makeshift town.
In levity they fructify, let grace
Emerge in joyous sound of connection:
Where affection becomes known and spreads
In an endless arc from heart to heart
& life to life of love ignited.

Thank you @d-pend for a heart moving poem that increases the smile in my heart and gives me assurance in my soul.
Every wavelength of light that is refracted and reflected and refracted again through a molecule of water produces a sign to us all that connects us with the eternal.
In times of war and distress the connection seems to be quickly stolen away and hidden in the corners and shadows but there they grow.
The connection to the eternal grows every time we smile, forgive, love and encourage another. It shines like a rainbow from heart to heart.
Thank you for showing this rainbow to me . I can only embrace the grace this poem extends and shine the grace on others.

@d-pend, one suspects that the reason I am so drawn to your poetry is due to the fact that we inhabit opposite sides of the spectrum. Of course, all this is based on interpretation, for who knows what a poet is trying to convey. All we can bring to the table is one's biases, which are informed by one's experiences, and these experiences are shaped by a myriad of external factors.
There is something redemptive in your words though. That is a constant in your poetry. This one being no exception. And I presume that this is where the universe has brought you, and it has brought me to where I am, and all of us to where we are; whether or not we are aware of it.

Resonates with me. I don't know, maybe after all, we are drawn to that thing called love, and joy, for in them do we find the connections that will propell us along this journey called life.

So comlicated to find your native soul in this life.

It is an interesting point you raise @taliakerch, and one I have contemplated for some time. I am convinced deep love is possible both with and without relationships, because it is an essence that is present within all life. It does seem rather uncommon for people to find the twin spark of their spirit in this life. Perhaps because the universe is very large, and they could be on some other planet! Of course, I can only speak from my experience as well, so I must admit that I am probably too young to come to any firm conclusion on the topic. Focusing on increasing & clarifying the force of unconditional love within oneself seems to be a powerful foundation for living, so that whether or not we remain "alone" or united with another, we will be oriented towards developing the highest faculties available to a human being.

I don't how old you are but your opinion is very deep and wise, not for a young guy.
I have heard once that such people are called "an old soul", I was called in such a way, and maybe it's you too.
I agree with you, the full understanding will come later, experience means much for sure, and I support the idea that full and pure harmony is possible without relationships and a love partner, because each of us is a Universe, the world that doesn't demand anything or anybody outside, if it is in Harmony with itself .
Love to a partner can just add new colors and emotions which we can need at this or that period of our life.

Read widely- modern and classic literature, expand the vocabulary, and practice for a few minutes daily, and anyone will gradually develop a facility for poetics :-)

This certainly is a blank verse, your rhythms seems to be within the lines, however I see a little bit of rhymes in your right and tenth line.
I feel the images they were trying to paint, it's like a sound of a lullaby, howbeit, you found the connection from heart to heart which means the poem ended on a sweet note.

The lyrics of the poet was very nice and captivating but the rhymes are not noticed. It is as if the ability of the lines to rhyme was neglected. It could be that it is my first time to see this thus i don't know how to recite it in a proper way as the composer do. Any way the massage of the poet stand out. The pictures really added effect to what the poetry is all about. Thank you for this.

Hi @blizzo thanks for the comment! You are exactly right. With this free variety of verse, for the most part, rhymes are neglected. In fact, when once becomes used to non-rhymed verse, it will easily become the preference for the expression of deeper sentiment. However, I do often still include internal rhymes, slant rhymes, and true rhymes in this type of writing for their rhythmic effect and their sense of finality. Hope that makes sense. I see enchanting pictures of rainbows, Daniel. But, every time I read your poem (and, so far, I've done so twice) I think of smiles. Are rainbows smiles from the heavens, bestowing their favors on us, and urging us to smile back at the heavens and one another, in turn?
