It seems as though western culture is leaning towards narcissism on a massive scale. People are more concerned with EGO than anything else these days (generally speaking). Narcissism can take on a vicious cycle wherein the victim adopts the traits of their abuser and become partially narcissistic themselves. Its a nasty thing that is unfortunately becoming more and more prevalent in our collective culture
