To love another
Apparently
Is to accept them wholly;
To let their being in and,
Seeing every part,
Embrace it
To roll up your sleeves,
Expecting break downs
Replacements
Remodels
Knowing there is no life time guarantee
Imagine
Being so brave as to love another
So fierce as to look into the eye of the unpredictable and say
I know
I just don’t care
When you hear
‘I love you’
Understand what this entails;
I love you is an acceptance
Not only of you
But of you tomorrow
Understand that
You will change,
And be loved for the way you do,
You will grow,
And nothing will be expected -
Sharing the warmth
Of your new leaves as they soak in the sun
The smile on your face as you feel your own core strengthen
Is enough.
Understand
When the storm hits
And you wilt
Your petals will land gently in kind hands
And your earth will be cared for
While new ones grow
When you hear ‘I love you’
Hear
You are allowed to change
You are allowed to grow
You are allowed fall apart
And
Given the chance
I would cherish every moment
By your side
To love is simple
But daring
To love is to see life
In all its terrifying unruliness
And still
Madly
To let it in
