Do We Even Know What Love Is?
It’s funny how we live our lives using the “love” word to mean so many things.
We love certain foods, certain holidays, certain experiences,
certain people, places and things.
We love compliments, some aspects of society and/or nature.
We love a fine meal, spending time on our hobbies, and going on vacation...
We have ideas of what the word “love” means,
often hand-me-down perspectives from generations past.
The word “love” is used very loosely,
mostly diluted in meaning by its overuse and lack of true examples.
Our relationships with other people are a very good example
of what we believe love is.
Though relationships can be extremely beautiful,
many often suffer greatly with a foundation of “love”.
It is often apparent by the way some treat the people they “love”
that many of our ideas and experiences of love are extremely twisted.
How many of us have spanked or been spanked as children in the name of love?
How many of us have worked to control our spouses/partners, ultimately to
get what we want and feel better about ourselves?
How many wars have been fought through religions supposedly based on love?
Instead of reacting to each other from our conditioning and wounded hearts,
perhaps a soulful perspective based on unconditional love could lead us to
a more profound experience.
What if…
We were honored to be our true selves?
We were supported to experience the things that ignited our souls?
We were deeply respected for our life choices?
What if…
We could selflessly hold space for another to also be free
in the full expression of who they are?
We wanted for them what they want for themselves?
We were there for them no matter the circumstances?
We were open to supporting their true freedom?
We gave and received without expectation - no strings attached?
What would it be like to…
Truly love and be loved unconditionally?
Everyday is an opportunity to live to our highest soul's purpose
through unconditional love!
I've given myself huge challenges to love unconditionally.
Stories that are being and have been written that you'll likely be interested to hear.
I would love to hear if you've challenged yourself
to experience the depths of unconditional love?

Beautiful post, it's right about the use of the word love; We use it very vainly. your photographs reflect a lot of affection, and I think I'll be here waiting for more posts, although my English is bad, I'll try to follow you often. Best regards

I use the word love a lot myself, though it could never do justice to my experience of unconditional love. Silence is a way better expression of it. The word "love" somehow could not do it real justice.
Your English seems very spot on @johanacedcio. Thanks for stopping by. I hope to see you here again. Have a blessed day!
