One of the most frequently asked and resonating questions after my degree and NYSC is; "when are you getting married"? Hmm….
Many within my circle are happily married and are enjoying their married life, likewise the many singles within the circle that are 'happily single'. I enjoy spending time and eating the married men's food (‘cos that's all there is in their house...lol) as much as I enjoy sharing crazy jokes and staying out late with my singles.
I have been challenged, encouraged and sensitized by the society at all levels on the significance of early marriage, which I agree completely, (provided all variables are processing the expected output). In fact, I'm a product of early marriage and I so love it. At my age today, my Dad was already sending my older sister and me on errands. Today, we're seen as his younger ones.
In our society today, marriage is the unit measurement of responsibility for adult and the young working class, irrespective of gender. You'd be seen as an irresponsible 'somebody' if you're of age and is earning a living but yet to be married.
It is expected that once you have an income either directly or indirectly through your parents, your next project should be marriage and it is expected to come to fruition like magic (sharp, sharp). I've also heard people say it is best to marry before the breakthrough but that's for another day.
For today, my senior single man, Stan'Lee Xerxes Trump has chronicled the subject matter of relationship and marriage from the perspective of a single. Having being in the circle for decades, he asks, what if singles write about their own experiences, their own confusions, their own mistakes, uncertainties, love drama and the lessons learned on the way to actually start what would be a happy home?
I'm talking about the book "Run, Baby Run" by Stanley. It's a love book from a bachelor’s perspective. It will prove a huge resource for my fellow single men and women out there as we collectively propel the threshold to the desired home.
Fact is, every single man and woman should own and read a copy of this amazing book. Not only singles but our uncles and aunties too should read so they would know the challenges and pressure they are giving us, sorry, we are facing in the singlehood.
“Run, Baby Run” shall be launched alongside “Motives” as follows
Date: Sunday 29th July 2018
Venue: Chang Breeze Hotel, Opposite Redeemed Peoples Mission, State Low Cost, Jimeta Yola
Time: 3:00pm
PS: There would be a selfie stand with a beautiful stick, so my singles, please come in your best dress, let’s gather there and take selfies and exchange numbers.
PSS: Those are Kuran’s pictures. She's a fashion designer and a model. She's excelllent at what she does. I used her pictures to call your attention. No vex.
PSSS: You can launch this book from anywhere in the world. Simply tell Nelly Innocent SamBila what you want and we'd get it across to you. The books are in Hardcover, soft copy (ebook) and audio formats.
PSSSS: If you have read this far then you deserve some accolades. Say anything that is on your mind, either on this topic or others and stand a chance of getting a free signed cover page.
Lol.... You used her picture to draw our attention, and I was thinking of you giving you a wife before but no. 👍
