Great post! I would add 'meditation' as the technique par excellence to develop the necessary relationship both with the body and with others that would prevent the damaging excesses you listed.
Especially given that ALL of our suffering in whatever form it takes comes from a separated ego. Healing involves bringing the ego back into alignment with the body and the Self.
I do like to practice walking meditation. Being aware and focusing on just your body is an amazing experience. Thanks for the awesome comment.
