Today's Blue Velvet Quotes! "Mommy Loves You!" & A Song! I Am Waiting Here.....

in love •  7 years ago  (edited)

I just wrote an article about David Lynch the other day and was really surprised that many members  never heard of the eccentric director, actor, painter and all around excellent artist, even musician.

The Art Of Life! The Surrealist Of America, David Lynch......Negativity Is The Enemy Of Creativity!

Today I post some random "blue" images and sharing wonderful music, I listen to on repeat those past cold, grey and freezing, little sad winter days I am still not used to, inspired by a hell of a great movie I love.

This is my Song and Sounds for You Today!

David's 2nd Solo Album The Big Dream

David Lynch plays the guitar and it features a cover of Bob Dylan's "The Ballad of Hollis Brown", a magic collaboration ballad with Swedish singer and songwriter Lykke Li.

BLUE VELVET Movie Quotes

Frank: Mommy. Mommy. Mommy. Mommy.
Dorothy: Mommy loves you.
Frank: Baby wants to ****. Get ready to ****. You ****er's ****er. You ****er. Don't you ****in' look at me!...Baby wants blue velvet...Don't ****in' look at me. Don't ****in' look at me. Don't you look at me. Daddy's coming. Daddy's coming home. Don't you ****in' look at me. Daddy's coming home...Don't you ****in' look at me. [blows out the candle] Now it's dark. Stay alive baby. Do it for Van Gogh.

Maybe I am crazy to love such conversations.

Dorothy: Why are you here? What do you want? Jeffrey: I, uh... Dorothy: I looked for you in my closet tonight. It's crazy. I don't know where you come from, but I like you. Jeffrey: It's not crazy. I like you too. Dorothy: I liked being with you last night. Jeffrey: Same here. [they kiss] Dorothy: Please be with me. Be with me please.

Will I ever meet somebody who would talk to me like that?

"Please be with me!"

Just words.....but so simple!

Do you know the difference in-between right and wrong?

Jeffrey: I'm sorry, Dorothy. I should go.
Dorothy: Yes. You think I'm crazy don't you? I want you to stay. Don't hate me.
Jeffrey: I don't hate you.
Dorothy: I'm not crazy. I know the difference between right and wrong.
Jeffrey: That's good.
Dorothy: You're my special friend. I still have you inside of me. It helps me. I need you.
Jeffrey: I'll call you.
Dorothy: OK. Soon?
Jeffrey: Um, mm.
Dorothy: Would you lie to me? Are you sure?

And You?

Have you ever been close to "heaven"?

Yes ! I was.......

I am right there with the rainbow.

Paul: You ever been to pussy heaven?
Jeffrey: Uh, no
Frank: What did he say?
Paul: He says, "Uh, no"

Mommy loves You!

Hahahaaaa 😶

Nature is truly beautiful..you got a nice tree to share

With Eraserhead and The Elephant Man, we got hints of Lynch's genius, and when Blue Velvet came out, his status and stature were assured.

Somewhat similar to his earlier films, this was brilliant film making that depicted a shocking, unfamiliar world that was all the more unsettling because it was so close to home.

On the surface, we saw ordinary people in ordinary towns and cities doing ordinary things. But beneath the surface (or behind closed doors), things were much different.

David Foster Wallace had some great things to say about the film. https://biblioklept.org/2011/01/27/it-was-this-truly-epiphantic-experience-david-foster-wallace-describes-the-first-time-he-saw-blue-velvet/

On the surface, we saw ordinary people in ordinary towns and cities doing ordinary things. But beneath the surface (or behind closed doors), things were much different.

Thats exactly what I appreciate so much about his genius bit corky mind, I actually can relate to ordinary people become extraorinary personalities behind doors. Just like I know it from real life myself.

I've always been more intrigued by the truth behind doors!

Thanks for the link. I will check this out and hey ......very very nice meeting you here.

Great to meet you, too. I'd seen the name "Mammasitta" and I noticed it because I used to eat at a Costa Rican restaurant in Singapore named "Mamacita." (Interesting fact for you...)

Then, after reading your 2 posts relating to Lynch, I had to find out about your profile and follow you.

Re Lynch and our discussion, the more I grow and the more I learn, the more I realize how little we know about reality. As kids and young adults, many of us believe that "what you see is what you get."

Eventually, we experience the world and society, and we learn that often "what you see is NOT what you get." Your friends and maybe even your family, your political leaders, your teachers, and even Harvey Weinstein all have secrets. Some good, some bad, but well hidden.

Which is okay to a certain degree. But trust relies on being open.

Anyway, it's nighttime in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and the Candy-Colored Clown will soon come tiptoe-ing into my room. G'nite!

And we love you too !!!!!!! <3

David Lynch is my hero! Twin Peaks the best series ever made. Lost Highway, a great movie; as Blue Velvet is as well. Months ago he inspried me to write an article about creativity, his view is exactly my view: creativity is fishing and catching instead of inventing: https://steemit.com/creativity/@edje/how-to-be-creative-fishing-and-catching-instead-of-inventing

I became a David Lynch fan with the series "Twin Peaks." It was just so strangely surreal and beautiful, all at the same time... like a sort of background soundtrack of the weirdness of the world we all know is there, yet nobody talks about for fear of being thought "nuts." I knew he is a composer (from the Twin Peaks score) but not the this extent... thanks for sharing!

Bob OH Bob How Do I love him :)more than bitcoin talk hahaha

Music can tear the soul to goosebumps ... It raises and pulls to the molecules ... It heals the sick Soul and Heart ... At different moments of life - it's different ... And Each of Us ... In It's Looking ... MY HISTORY...
I really liked it, listened with satisfaction. Thank you.

Oh How did I enjoy reading your soulful comment!!! There is too much #money and crypto talk here recently. Big hugs for you!

I think this is due to the fact that Steemit has more men than women who do not care about music. Thank you for the compliment

You got a valid point :) I just keep going ......I have a group on steemit chat called #mammasittas ....Pls join and post your links

Such an interesting track, "I'm waiting Here." Simple, sweet, and yet a bit mystical...

Love Steemit for these opportunities to become exposed to culture, music, and art that I might not otherwise be... Thank you!

Seems like you have a very romantic mood today:))))
I never heard this guy before but he is pretty good. I liked his voice. Thanks for making my day 😘😘😘

Oh yes indeed and great to know you could "FEEL" my mood :) sending out to all of you because I am so damn dizzy of the bitcoin talk.

Ohhhhh yeah! I'm tired of that too😵😵😵
Crypto world is a true madness. We should pay more attention to what surrounds us and people arround us!

I have heard of David Lynch, but actually I have never taken part of any of his work. Interesting and amusing post then. I have also heard of Lykke Li, I'm Swedish:-)
By the way, winter is cold, grey and hard to stand at this moment, glad we are able to share and take part of some creative work here on Steemit. A light in the darkness.

I hope you enjoy to discover those fab artists, their work and music I shared today to warm all of those who live through the winter-days. I lived in the tropics for many years and its a bit difficult but I try to embrace "cold" days to reflect and write more. Nice to meet you!

Yes I do enjoy:-) I see what you mean by embrace cold days, and it's a great idea.
Thanks and have a great day!

Hi! As a photographer, I can say, that this is very good post :) ! Thank You for sharing!

I am blushing :)
Nice to meet you!

I never knew he was a musician, but I love his movies!

Great Album! Check it out and enjoy 😉

Didn't he do the movie too (Blue Velvet)? Did you get my message on Facebook

thanks for the music, it brought me back to Twin Peaks as music and sound have always played a huge part in it and also features Lykke Li in it. You should watch it, I'm sure you'd love it xx

I will get all series and watch them all at once ☺️😋😉

He carries his love and emotions every time. Today people are watching Bitcoin, it's nice to hear some new information about artists.

finally somebody who understands what I mean with my articles. too much crypto talk and way too many discussions here those days.

It's the main topic, money and money and money- I'm trying to write different things, a little slower going, but good, step by step, reaching the goal

patience is the key and doing what YOU believe in not some whales who probably don't know anything else but "numbers". It gets boring here sometimes unless I find interesting and unique posts from newer people than the ones we already know from those trending pages.
Don't change and keep going with your passion it it!

Thank you for your support, these are the right words at the right time

That’s the right spirit 😋

Very Good post anything which related to music is that great I like that I think music is a spiritual feed off your soul thank you.

I am feeding you all as much as I can because for me its too much money talk here

We are never to Old to learn, and we are open for good vibes.. so Thanks for those Great songs and Very Very Nice pictures.

Danke schoen dear @livelifefullest

Oh yeah @mammasitta, David Lynch an excellent director and in the series "Twin Peaks", the films "Blue Velvet", "Highway to Nowhere", "Mulholland Drive" the director offered the public not just an intrigue, as in the good old detectives, and not just horror stories, as in teenage horror stories. He created quasi-realistic universes in which strangeness, mystery, absurdity become the very essence of what is happening. This quality is "dissolved" in interiors, dialogs, color and sound solutions. And viewers bribed such an unusual view of everyday reality.

I am so so so surprised how much you know about my favourite people on our planet :) More to come .....

You are right with us still ahead!

Truly loving that !!!

Your post and you are so lovely..I respect to love..so I love you too!!!

A couple of minutes of such a song and you are depressed. Think it over. Life is given to a person to get happiness.
Rejoice, life is beautiful. If it does not come out, you can eat chocolate and drink coffee. It will be much easier :)

excuse meeeeee???? depressed?? why? beauty never depresses me!
I see that you come from another planet :)

No, it seems to be from the Earth.
Just how many people have so many opinions :)

Maybe not from mine where beauty in nature and sounds lift me up! If you would read most of my articles you would know more about my message.
Just a question : classical music depresses you as well? what do you listen to?

Не вся, но некоторая да. Одним из моих нынешних предпочтений является - David Garrett https://soundcloud.com/mustafa-kattoush/sets/david-garrett

p.s Not all, but some yes. One of my current preferences is - David Garrett https://soundcloud.com/mustafa-kattoush/sets/david-garrett

Nice!
BTW , I don't think you did not listen to the full album I posted or BOB Dylons song.

Maybe it's true, I made a hasty decision after listening to the first few minutes of the video

😋😋😋🐲

Great quote by David Lynch! It fits so well with those great shots of beautiful landscape and sky color :)
