Hey guys... I'm home!
Decide to share this image I shot a while ago. It reminds me of how the value of love in our society used to be.
I remember growing up. The fact that a new neighbour arrived was like christmas. I and my friends would reach out to that neighbour and in few weeks, we've bonded.
The new neighbours always misses their old friends at first and they tend to be moody in the first weeks of arrival. But them, seeing us around all the time just had a way of making them not hold back to that old friend. Parents saw us and were always in contact with us as we played. Just to make sure we played right.
That is what I knew to be love; as a young child. I never even knew until I changed environment and the same love was shown to me. It felt so real.
As we grew up, everyone became too busy... we were all trying to 'build' our lives and face school. With time, we forgot about that new child that came into the neighbourhood... The love we got, we didnt reciprocate.
I could imagine the new child in the neighbourhood growing up without friends...
Of course online friends became his resort. And gradually, a day without data became like a nightmare even while we were all on holidays!
Soon, we were all teenagers and needed someone to hear us out. At this time, I had also still resorted to online friends... I'm sure my other friends did same.
Now, where were the parents that usually check on us?.. They couldn't even see us..
Yeah right! We were busy and they also were.. with their online friends and work.
And where are the online friends we're suppose to be talking to??.
Sadly, busy with their own issues and the quest for online recognition.
Do you see a link to depression here??.. If you don't, tell me who's gonna teach that young girl how to handle a brakeup?
Sadly,
The ones that eventually come out mild, have this 'thing' that they dont need anyone.
They build this ideology and it gradually becomes a part of their psychology. Soon.. 'I dont need anyone translates to 'I dont have anyone'...
I guess you can now see a link..
Meanwhile..,
You won't blame them because there is no longer love in the streets!
Love is key and every human needs someone by his side. Could be be friends, family, a husband, a wife, a companion, a play mate or even a child.
Saying we need no one is a reason for depression and mental Illness these days.
A person around you may just be the solution to your problems.
Lets bring back the love in the streets.
