My Blog's first post :)
What is love?
First, love is an act. Love is not any words of promises, it is not dreams of the impossible, it is not visions of the few, and it is not vanities nor attributes of the beautiful. Love requires actions, it is to be acted upon, it is to be done, it is to be accomplished, and it is to be consummated. Love does not dwell in sweet promises, much more that it does not dwell in passing infatuations and very much more that it does not live upon mundane passions and lasting lust. Love is an act everyone has to do, it is to be acted upon those who have seen themselves as gifts to others and by doing so, it completely finds meaning of themselves. Love does not lose oneself when one gives himself as love to the other.
Second, love is a will. Love is not a work of destiny, it is not a hesitation to unfold, it is not a shallow dream of fantasy, and it is not a wish created upon vanity. Love is a will, a determination to endure, a choice to stand, and a decision to surpass. Love behests upon permanence because it is a will to be acted, because it is a determination to be done, because it is a choice to be made, and because it is a decision to be accomplished. Love as a will is a commitment to endure, to surpass, and to stand. If one loves, one is determined to endure; if one loves, one is decisive to surpass; and if one loves, one has chosen to endure. No great love is acted greatly, only humble will determined to endure, surpass and stand; and eventually becoming great love out of small things.
Third, love is for the good of the other. Love is not for oneself, it is not for one’s whim and vanity, it is not for one’s passion and interest, and it is not for one’s boast and ego. Love is always for the good of the other, it is for the joy of the other, and it is for the happiness of the other. It does not, on the other hand, mean that when one loves, one forgets oneself, it is just that there’s plenty from him or her, that he or she is drawn to share. It is akin to the work of nature, there has always been abundance from nature, that in the entire creation, sharing is abundance. Love is for the good of the other because it comes from the abundance of oneself. It is giving without losing, it is sharing without compromising and it is expressing without halting. Love is always for the good of the other which, in turn, speaks the joy of the giver. The more one gives, the more joyful he or she would be and thus, the more one loves, the more joy one encounters. No love is shared from a needy heart, no love is offered from a greedy heart, and no love is given from a selfish heart. Love is free, and will always be; it is always freely and gratuitously shared, offered and given.
Nice :)
