PROBLEM

One of my buddies is having a hard time convincing his wife that he should go. I wrote this for him and thought I'd share it for anyone else who is in a similar spot.

Tip #1: Write her a love letter

BEFORE mentioning the trip, write her a love letter. Make it completely out of the blue. Do it even 8 hours before breaking with her the news about the trip and how much it would mean to you.

Tip #2: Take her on a date

Tell her that you will take her on a romantic date the day before the trip. And do it. Plan something fun. Go to a show. Go dancing. Have a blast.

Tip #3: Express your affection

Tell her how much you will miss her and how much she means to you.

Tip #4: Express your attention

Reassure her that there won't be a moment that goes by on this trip that you won't be thinking about her.

This isn't a silver bullet of course. But it's a step in the right direction. Just keep it real. Be yourself. And love on her.
