Its another season of Love where you begin to see all manner of display of red stuffs in different dimensions and fashion all in the name of Celebrating love. Some will sure be weird, while some will be beautiful to behold. But my question is what is the point celebrating Love seasonally and yet not feel its effects afterwards?

Perhaps its seen basically as a yearly tradition and not an ACT that ought to be practiced daily, weekly, monthly, and all year round.

An extract from the song of Kirk Franklin titled "Love" says “ Love a word that comes and goes but few people really know what it means to really love somebody “ is a true reflection of what I am talking about today.

Most times, people’s expression or definition of Love is embedded with a lot of selfish motives without knowing. Though most are even aware but don’t know they are expressing selfish Love.

I have heard people say, I can’t invest or try to invest in a relationship where I do not see a green light that the other party will reciprocate same. I may be wrong, but that seem to be selfish already.
Love does not have to be seen as an investment that you are expecting a returns from.

Oh! I have seen someone whose relationship didn’t work out and the Dude demanded the Babe returns the financial investment he has made on her so far in the relationship, and of cause she had to, just to save face. Would you call that Love? I have also encountered a guy who said “he can never apologize to his girlfriend “(that’s weird right) ha-ha. It sounded more unbelievable when I heard a husband say the same to his wife. In such a home you begin to wonder how they met in the first place. You might even get confused about Love.

Its essential to know that Love is not by Force but by Choice. So, that a lady or a guy decides to walk away from a relationship is a choice that should be respected and not decide to make an enemy out of such a situation.
We need to realize that life is in phases and whenever we walk out of a door, we ought to be careful how you close it because we might need to come back to that door. So, the manner in which you close the door determines if the door will open to you later or not.

While I was still dating my fiance, now my wife, I told her expressly never to feel indebted to me because of all my investment (Financial and all) and to tell me whenever she feels she ain't interested in the relationship anymore. Well, she never left me. We are married with a cute son. However, if she had left me, I would be hurt yes, but will never see my commitment and investment as a waste but as a SEED.

My Dad is 84years old and my Mum 68. He told me, he wanted to start saving a particular amount every month in preparation for my Mum's 70th Birthday and that he prays God spares his life to see that day. Wow! I was moved to tears. What a commitment, what a True Expression of Love that is.

Fellas, beyond expressing some Love to your Loved ones this day, why not go a step further by showing someone who isn't expecting your love. Extend a hand to the needy, the orphans, the widow, the brokenhearted and the unloved and enjoy the feeling it gives.

Nothing is small when its from a Loving Heart. Give that smile, encourage someone, give that long time friend a call, O! You can send someone a call card, you can tell that friend of yours what he or she did years ago that you held so important.
