Forced to love

This is India, where parents have a say in your love life. Love is a taboo, but parents finding one for you is not. Young girls and boys are told to avoid falling in love by themselves, because parents know better about what their child wants.

Cupid is out of work here, because moms and dads do their work with extensive research. It is believed that we at young age are incapable of knowing what we need for ourselves, so when our parents know which curry we prefer, won't they know which type of spouse we would prefer? Does this mean that our country has the lowest divorce rates? Well, not actually. Divorces in arranged marriages are at rise.

There are many arranged marriages that are decided just because of name, fame and money. Parents fail to look into important details like sexual preferences and compatibility. I remember a distant relative was married to a handsome guy. Though they didn't look as happy as they should have, everything seemed good. The girl refused to go to her marital home for some reason and after some years, it was declared that the groom's parents are finding another match for their daughter in law. Turned out the guy was not interested in marriage and his parents had forced him in it.

Lucky girl, her in laws took charge and found her a guy with whom she is living happily now. I wish Indian parents let the Cupid do his work and relax.
