Hello Steemians!

I am excited to start a project that I have had in mind for a while, but just haven't gotten around to do it. Today is the perfect day to let you know what this project is since it's my mom's birthday today! So today was the perfect day to start it.

What is Project #loveletters?

I have in my posession a binder full of original letters written by my parents when they were going out and living in two different countries. My plan is to share a letter a day and put their love story on the blockchain. I have their permission to do so :)

What is special about the project?

My parents met in the nightclub Maddox in Playa de Aro, Spain in 1978 when my mom went with her parents on vacation to Spain. My mom is from Holland and my dad is from Spain. Talking to each other was difficult since my dad spoke no English and my mom spoke no Spanish. They spoke French, which was limited. So after my mom went back to Holland, they started writing letters to each other. These letters are written starting in 1978 back and forth between my mom and my dad. These were sent from Spain to Holland and back. They tried to write in different languages to be able to understand each other. Some letters have words written over them to understand them. They both used dictionaries when writing these letters. The special thing is that they both saved these letters! Very few people write letters anymore, so having them is special.

This is my mom Irene back then.

This is my dad Jesus back then.

I hope you enjoy reading their #loveletters through time, just like I will enjoy sharing it. Depending on which language it was written I will translate it into English.

Disclaimer: The letters are copied as is. I understand they have many grammatical errors, but my parents did not have google translator, and relied on dictionaries to translate their thoughts.

Que hermoso romance, espero por leer las cartas, buena idea, mucho exito!

Muchas gracias @betamusic@ Si ya empecé con la primera, hoy pondré la segunda (respuesta de mi madre:)

Wow, your parents are equally beautiful(handsome). This project is one of a kind, I am waiting for the letters'. Let me find if I can find any such letters!

I consider them to be a treasure. The fact that they saved these after so many years! I have to post them..Thanks @mathworksheets!

I don't go to cinemas very often until I have convinced myself about a movie being close to life or a true story. These letter's are actually more than watching a movie (Also no ticket) lol..

Lol! I also enjoy based on true stories movies! Yes you are welcome to see my parents movie for free! :)

Thanks, its' going to be exciting!!

You are welcome!

Cool idea...my husband once made me a sandwich to take to school and I found a note inside. I love you but you snore like a tractor....I will rather not say what I wrote on the note back to him...lol

Wow! :) so i guess it wasnt a love story? :)

Cool idea. And gefeliciteerd with your mum ;) So where did they end up, Holland, Spain or somewhere else?

Dank je @best-pomchi-ever! I guess you will have to wait and listen to the stories...lol....They lived in Spain for about 14 years and then moved to the USA for another 18 years. Now they are in back in Europe :)

Haha. I'll stay tuned :P Cool. So what languages do you speak? All three? ;)

Yes! My main language is Spanish since I lived in Spain, but also Dutch since my mother spoke to me in Dutch. Then I learned French in high school, and I picked up most of my English from the States...so actually 4! ;)

Cool. Well the fact that you speak three languages or more is really Dutch ;)

Lol! It's true...it's certainly not Spanish! allthough its becoming more important to be bilingual now.....

What a great idea, i think in this time we live in now there is not a lot of love letters around ...

No, there arent many...people text, send emails etc....thanks for your comment!

Awesome! Cool idea

Thanks @drewley!

That's such a cool idea. I can't wait to see your posts. I'm going to be following.
Your parents look lovely too. So keen to hear their story.

Thank you @ecentrally! They are lovely! But i am biased :) I was already following you! :)

Thanks! Sorry, I thought that I was following you from a previous post you did earlier in the week. As it turns out I wasn't and I stumbled across this post while browsing. Anyway I'm definitely following you now. :-)

No problem! Sometimes we have too many things going on and we think we did things we actually didnt. The important thing is that you are now and you will be able to read the stories :)

This is a great idea, especially of how they managed ot express their love for each other. I look forward to reading them, just followed you.

Thank you @anomadsoul! I followed you too! :)

Sure like to read that. I hope you post both the originals and the translated versions. I do speak and read Spanish so I'd love to see their French etc... versions.

Yes I will post pictures of their actual letters and translate them into English. I might do posts into Spanish...we will see! Thanks @jeezle!

This is an excellent idea. I am going to read the letters now

Thank you! Enjoy :)

What a wonderful idea. I saw the letters in your blog, but could not figure out what was the story behind it. Now I do.
Your parents must be very special people.

Thank you Bart! Yes they are and I always like to leave a link to the main project so people see their story. If I put it on each post I cant focus on their letters :)
