Lunyr - Earn Rewards For Contributing in A Peer-To-Peer Blockchain Encyclopedia

Introduction

Many of us have accessed information in an Encyclopedia both online and offline, at least we are not unfamiliar with the term. However, majority of the Encyclopedias we have online do not reward contributors in cryptocurrency for the content they create or review. Come to think of this; wouldn't you prefer a platform where you can freely contribute (either as a content creator or reviewer) and get paid in cryptocurrency? If your answer is in the affirmative, then you will love the idea of Lunyr.

Overview of Lunyr

Lunyr is an Ethereum-based decentralized peer-to-peer crowd-sourced Encyclopedia. The idea behind the creation of Lunyr is to provide an enabling environment where content creators can contribute to building an Encyclopedia-like platform and they will be rewarded with Erc tokens after completing a particular task. You will agree with me that the internet is host to plenty of unverified and non-factual information. However, to make the contents hosted on Lunyr viable, the contents will have to pass through a peer-to-peer review and only then will the content be featured on Lunyr. This means that both the content creators and the reviewers will have their own rewards.

There is no limit to what can be posted on Lunyr. As a matter of fact, there is an absolute freedom of expression which can cover any field and any topic - just as it is applicable with some Encyclopedias we are familiar with. Apart from the fact that Lunyr is a content hosting platform, it also provides an internal wallet where users can safely store their Ethereum-based tokens.

Lunyr has an internal Ethereum-based token called LUN (Lunyr Token). This token is already listed on CMC and has the price of $2.46 (as at the time of making this post - 18/06/2019). LUN is currently trading on some big exchange platforms like Binance and Huobi. Your influence within the community is a function of your LUN token and every activity (both content creation and review) that you perform on the platform is saved on the blockchain.

Contributing in Lunyr

Users can contribute as content creators or as reviewers, though they can function in both capacities if they choose to. To start contributing in Lunyr and earning cryptocurrency, you need to go to https://lunyr.com and download the Lunyr desktop App that suits you. Lunyr App is available for Windows OS, iMac, and other desktop OS. After downloading the App, you will proceed to install it and create your account following the on-screen instructions. After creating your account, you also need to create your personal Lunyr wallet which will have its own unique address - this wallet is where your earned tokens will be stored.

Once you have followed the above procedures, you can now create your first content. Creating contents is very easy, just log into your Lunyr account from your desktop, by the top right corner, you will see the "write" button, just click on it and it will open an interface where you will start with you content creation. It has a slight similarity to Steemit. The difference is that after posts have been submitted, reviewers will have to approve it for it to be hosted on the platform. The approval is to check if it has copyright infringement and other details. For every action you perform on Lunyr, you will earn points. There are two points to be earned by contributors and they are:

  • Honour Points (HNR)
  • Contributors Point (CBN)

The Honour point (HNR) is awarded to reviewers for their peer-to-peer review of articles that have been submitted and for ascertaining the validity of the information contained there. The Contributors Point (CBN) is awarded to content creators and this is dependent on the score given by the reviewers. CBN can be converted directly to LUN token on the platform and traded for other cryptocurrencies or for fiat.

One very good thing about Lunyr is that it has brought decentralization to online Encyclopedia and this will lead to true internet freedom. There is no feeling as divine as getting rewarded for making contributions that you would have done for free. If you have not already started using Lunyr platform, just go to https://lunyr.com to download the OS version of your preference to get started or you can follow any of these links for quick download and for further information.
