Before you ask, no. It's not mine. I helped a friend out this weekend, being part camera instructor and part wedding photographer. A friend of hers had asked her to shoot said friend's wedding. This is my contribution to #macromonday.
Shiny!
I probably should have used my tripod for this one, but I managed to pull it off hand-held. The couple wasn't too concerned with the wedding (#4 for her, #5 for him) and they used synthetic floral arrangements. Normally, I'd get the rings in a rose or on top of some other large, fluffy-ish flower. In a pinch, I used a white reflector and went for the jewelry-store approach. There were quite a few nice portraits in there, but I won't post them without consent.
It was quite a bit of work, but helping a friend is always a good cause. This is the third wedding I've shot, as I've only ever done it for friends and family.
Technical Bits:
EOS 7D
EF 100mm F2.8 Macro
ISO 640
F/5
1/60 sec

Lol, I love how the couple is on their 4th and 5th wedding! I sure wouldn't like the stress of taking wedding photos of a 1st wedding. Personally, I love weddings where something awkward happens cause its memorable entertainment :) Great photo of the rings !!

Thanks!
Yeah... This one didn't really have anything super exciting happen, although they were all motorcyclists and I got to take some fun bike shots at the end. It would have been better in high-contrast black and white, with tattoos showing, but still pretty cool.

Really nice close-up work. Great selective depth of field. Almost looks like done with a 4x5 with tilt/shift, etc. I photo'd a couple of friends weddings, it was STRESSFUL. Particularly since it was on film. "Can you guys do it again?" Not a question anyone wants to hear.
I did fine, except a couple rolls of reception candids, where I shot flash at 1/125. Half images all. I didn't tell them or show them those. People in general don't need to know EVERYTHING. Nice of you to help out and shoot for them. Hope you got to eat some cake and drink a bit of bubbly too.

Thank! Yeah... weddings. It is definitely stressful! I've never been asked to take photos for one of those really big, drawn-out weddings.
Ah, film. I dono't miss that stuff! I wouldn't mind having one of those nice medium-format digitals, though. I hear Canon now has a large-format digital sensor, though I don't even want to speculate on the price tag. Candid shots, flash, film... sounds like a recipe for problems. At least with digital, they're easy to delete.
I did get a burger and a slice of cake, but there was no liquor! They also didn't do the marriage license signing at the wedding, which seems a little weird.

😱 Well they are nothing if not optimistic!
Nice close up @fotosdenada. I couldn't help noticing the scratches on the wedding wing. Are they going for a bit of recycling there? 😂

Haha, well... They seemed like they had a lot in common, so maybe this time it will all work out. Not sure about the rings, though. Those things can get expensive. I wonder how much it would cost to have a jeweler buff out those scratches. They give it a bit of character, though.
